A Borboleta Verde

Palácio da Pena, Sintra

||PT

A little awhile ago I had the pleasure of walking by the beautiful Pena Palace and its lovely gardens, in Sintra.

Shame on me, but I actually never had the pleasure of getting to discover this beautiful Palace, not even with a school trip!

The gardens have absolutely amazing corners, and the view from the top of the Palace, specially on the Queen Terrace, is the most beautiful of them all!

I can not stop me from saying that price of the Palace and Gardens is a bit exagerated (14€ with a 5%discount if you buy them online), particularly now that a lot of areas are under remodeling. Probably if it was all good I wouldn't think the same way, but in the in the way that it is now, with a lot of rooms being improved, under restoration, big rows to enter in the visitable rooms and the majoraty of them without a single written explanation of the place itself. I do think the price is unjust and disproportionate.

Of course you can just pay for the Gardens tickets (7,50€) which will give you access to not only the gardens, but the Tritan Terrace and the Kitchen Terrace. Unfortunately the Queen Terrace it's not accessible with this ticket.

The view you'll have from up the palace is going to leave thunderstruck! Thats's for sure! But being a misty day, you won't be able to see much of it, although you might feel the magic and mystery of Sintra!
